Camp Goodtimes - NS

Canadian Cancer Society
Emotional support

Eligibility

Children aged 7-17 living with and beyond cancer.

Description:

Camp Goodtimes is a medically supervised, safe, fun and recreational-based experience where children and youth aged 7 to 18 living with cancer or beyond build resilience, strength and independence to see that life is bigger than cancer. Camp allows for an open and accepting environment where lifelong friendships can be made. Held at Brigadoon Village in Aylesford, Nova Scotia, all staff and volunteers are trained to ensure that every camper is safe and has a fun-filled week.

Not only does the Canadian Cancer Society provide a camp experience for children and youth, but Family Camp is also offered. Family Camp is an opportunity for families who are living with cancer or beyond to take part in traditional camp activities with a focus on fun and learning. Similar to the youth camp, all staff are trained and equipped to ensure that all campers are safe and feel comfortable. This includes medical and Brigadoon staff as well as volunteers.
