The caregiver tax credit that went into effect January 1, 2012 allows caregivers who care for an ill family member to claim an additional dependent amount under one of the existing dependent tax credits.

Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP)

Tax clinic volunteers complete tax and benefit returns for eligible individuals to ensure they receive, or continue to receive, the benefit payments to which they are entitled.
