Kapown is a 32 Bed residential Treatment Facility specializing in Mental Health & Addictions.  Kapown is located on the shore of the beautiful Buffalo Bay, on the Kapawe’no First Nation near Grouard, AB. Kapown also offers Out-Patient Treatment along with a 2nd Stage Treatment Program that provides life skills training, work experience and extended treatment services. We offer a 56-Day Residential Treatment program that is Client Focused and Evidence Based. We provide all of our clients with comprehensive Mental health & Addiction Services to allow them the best possible chance to overcome their addiction to Alcohol and Drugs.  Kapown does accept couples, although they are spaced 2 weeks apart. Our programs are a synthesis of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Introduction to Mindfulness, Motivationally Enhanced Therapy and Twelve Step Facilitation models. First Nation cultural practices; based in Western Cree tradition, are woven and integrated throughout each course of treatment. Our dynamic CACII/ICADC certified counseling staff come from all walks of life. They are both knowledgeable and passionate about helping others find their personal power, improving coping and communication skills and finding connections within the circle of life.
