Cancer Support Groups
Eligibility
You do not need to be in active treatment or even a patient at BGH to qualify. Nonetheless, those in active treatment or survivorship are equally welcome! Groups meet using a hybrid model so you can join in person or via Zoom.
Description:
Here at the Douglas A MacIntosh Cancer Clinic, an outpatient service at Belleville General Hospital, our social workers (MSW) are running 5 different support groups for cancer patients living in the southeast area of Ontario.
The Breast Cancer Support group runs every 1st Wednesday of the month at 1pm.
The Newly Diagnosed Support group runs the 2nd Wednesday at 1pm.
The Caregiver Support Group runs the 3rd Wednesday at 1pm.
The All Cancers Support group runs the 4th Wednesday at 1pm.
On months where there is a 5th Wednesday, the Creative Cancer Support group runs at 1pm. This group is not discussion focused but rather focused on making arts and crafts, and it is open to caregivers and patients alike.
