Cranbrook Prostate Cancer Awareness and Support Group
Eligibility
Anyone with a diagnosis of prostate cancer, or any prostate issues, and their family and caregivers are welcome to attend.
Description:
Our Cranbrook group is, of course, centered in Cranbrook, but we hope to serve all patients in the East Kootenays. Our meetings are open to anyone, and we usually follow a specific agenda. We start at 7:00 pm with an opening that states our purpose and stresses some of our guidelines for the group. We have an information session that usually involves a guest speaker or a video dealing with some issue of interest to our members. This will take us to 8:00 and we then ask the spouses and other guests to adjourn to the college lobby while we hold a round table of patients who can speak freely to each other.
While prostate cancer is exclusively a male disease it sometimes has a profound impact on the family unit. Spouses/partners and children of our members are most welcome for the first half of our meetings.
Our meetings are held at the College of the Rockies, Cranbrook Main Campus.
