Qualifying criteria for financial assistance: - Province of Quebec resident - Diagnosed with breast cancer - Receiving active treatment (surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy or immunotherapy or other or 1 year post-treatment. Hormone therapy and reconstruction surgery do not qualify. - Meeting the financial eligibility criteria

Organization that offers several services that can be helpful to persons touched by breast cancer throughout the province of Quebec.


Diagnosis: The Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation launched 1-855-561-PINK to provide information and emotional support to persons during the pre-diagnosis process for breast cancer.


Financial: The Financial Assistance Program of the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation aims to provide financial assistance to women and men living with breast cancer. Intended as a temporary emergency fund, this program can offer reimbursement for many expenses brought about by treatments and recovery (breast prostheses, wigs, medication, travelling, accommodation, childcare, in-home medical or housekeeping assistance, rent, mortgage payment, groceries, etc.). Information (eligibility criteria and application form) is available on the organization's website or by phone.


Rehabilitation and exercise: The My Active Health program of the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation offers a variety of adapted services to help keep active during and after treatments. Activities include: oncology yoga, exercise videos, dragon boat teams, online virtual community (private Facebook group, @MaSanteActive), mobile application My Active Health (provides adapted exercises and helps to manage medication, follow-ups and treatments). 


Cancer research and clinical trials: The Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation funds breast cancer research.


Virtual clinic service:
Free, easy to use, accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the Virtual Clinic is a primary care service offered to people who have been affected by breast cancer and their families. On your computer, smartphone or tablet, contact doctors, nurses, psychologists, nutritionists, with one click, in the comfort of your home.

 
Emotional support: Telephone and email support intended for women with breast cancer, survivors of this disease as well as their loved ones, throughout the province. Online forum discussion for persons touched by breast cancer. There are also individual or family meetings with a social worker.


The Metastatic Breast Cancer Program offers support tailored to the reality of those affected by metastatic breast cancer. The Club Jasette (Chit Chat Club) is a monthly meeting supervised by a social worker. Private Facebook group, @ClubStade4. Meetings are held in French.


Complementary therapy: Funding for yoga and art-therapy workshops offered to women living with breast cancer in most regions of the province (a list of workshops is available on the website).
Other services offered:  Breast cancer information service (phone and email). Aims to raise awareness and provide information on breast health, healthy lifestyle habits as well as breast observation. Conferences offered in workplaces and schools by breast cancer survivors and nurses. Information booths. Educational material orders. The major fundraising activities are the "La Virée Rose", le "Cercle des amis" (fundraising events organized by people in the community) and the sale of pink items symbolizing the fight against breast cancer.
