Eligibility

Serves the Toronto LHIN and surrounding area. For patients and families coming to the centre for treatment or follow-up services. Doctor referral, appointment and valid Ontario Health card required.

Description:

The cancer centre offers treatment for patients with cancer. The centre is a Cancer Care Ontario partner, affiliated with the University of Toronto and is active in research and education.

Treatment, Radiation Therapy, Chemotherapy: Multi-disciplinary health team offers preventive, medical, radiation and surgical treatment options for patients.

Supportive Care: Offers programs to patients and caregivers to meet their physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs.

Drug Assistance, Financial: A Drug Reimbursement Specialist from supportive care can be accessed by referral from staff or anyone within the supportive care department.

Clinical Trials, Research & Development: The Odette Cancer Centre is involved in ongoing clinical trials and research programs.They test possible new ways to prevent, detect, treat or manage cancer. Most of the standard cancer treatments used today were first shown to be effective through clinical trials. Participation in a clinical trial may be an option for a person with cancer or someone at risk for developing cancer.

Education: An academic institution involved in research and education. The centre educates professionals and patients concerning cancer care and treatment.

Palliative Care consultation: We aim to improve the quality of living and dying for patients and their families coping with challenging, advanced or life threatening illness. Our services include both inpatient consultations and ambulatory care clinic visits. 

Patient and Family Support Program: The Patient and Family Support Program offers services to help with emotional, social and financial support, rehabilitation, and clinical nutrition. For Odette patients, or their family members, these services are part of your care before, during, and after treatment.
