One-on-one Counselling for substance + commercial tobacco use
Eligibility
Ages 18+ gay, bi, queer men and women (GBQ) and gender-diverse people including Two-Spirit and non-binary folks. Services are available to individuals that can access the health centers in Vancouver. No cost for service.
Description:
HIM aims to strengthen the health and well-being in communities of Gay, Bisexual, Queer men and gender diverse people in BC. We offer a full spectrum of health-based programming and services to meet the sexual, mental, physical and social health needs of communities of self-identified GBQ men and gender diverse people in BC. As the Expand project’s lead partner organization in Vancouver, HIM is promoting smoking cessation services in conjunction with mental health services to queer and trans folks in our communities.
HIM offers a community-based counselling program where individuals can access free one-on-one counselling for support with substances including commercial tobacco use. Participants can receive x8 50-minute weekly sessions. Additional sessions may be available through a counsellor’s private practice though at cost.
