Description:
Patients are referred to the Burnaby Hospital Cancer Centre / Medical Oncology Unit for a thorough assessment and to plan the care needed during treatment for cancer.
The Cancer Centre uses a team approach - onoclogists/hematologist, chemotherapy nurses, social worker, dietitian, receptionists, coordinator, and volunteers. The team will help patients and their support persons understand their diagnosis, answer questions about treatment options, and help the patient cope both physically and emotionally with their illness.
Patients must be referred by a physician.
We cannot accept drop-ins. All patients must have an appointment.
