Money Matters
Eligibility
Ontario and Alberta Residents Only.
Description:
It is not uncommon for cancer patients to experience financial hardship following a diagnosis. Many people require an extended leave of absence from their employment, have additional expenses due to hospital visits or caregiver needs, and have medication expenses that the Ontario health system does not cover.
Wellspring provides comprehensive case management services through the Money Matters program to help you navigate and access income-replacement programs and other available financial resources. Money Matters also offers specialized expert-led clinics in matters such as wills, employment law, and career resources.
A professional case manager will meet one-on-one with individuals to assess their financial situation and determine the programs for which they may be eligible. If necessary, assistance completing required forms and application processes is also provided. The service is provided free-of-charge and is completely confidential.
Some of the most common programs addressed include Employment Insurance Benefits, Canada Pension Plan, Ontario Disability Support Program, Ontario Works, and employer-based short-term and long-term disability benefits.
