Smokers' Helpline (SHL)
Eligibility
For tobacco and e-cigarette (vaping) users who want to quit, may be thinking about quitting, have stopped smoking and need support, or enjoy smoking and don't want to quit. Family members and friends of smokers who want to help someone quit may also use Smokers' Helpline. Healthcare providers and community services may contact Smokers' Helpline for information on referral programs and cessation resources.
Description:
Smokers' Helpline is a free, confidential service operated by the Canadian Cancer Society offering support and information about quitting smoking, vaping and tobacco use.
Smokers' Helpline is evidence-based, non-judgmental and personalized. Bilingual services are offered by phone 1-877-513-5333 and online at, smokershelpline.ca (Telephone service in Ontario provided by Health811). Text messaging support is also available in Ontario, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. Interpreter services in over 100 languages are also available by phone.
Smokers' Helpline serves four provinces and one territory in Canada, including: PEI, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Yukon.
