The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit is a public health agency serving North Bay, Parry Sound, and surrounding communities. It is dedicated to safeguarding and enhancing community health through prevention, promotion, preparedness, and protection. Operating across 31 municipalities and nine First Nations, the Health Unit provides essential public health resources and support through programs addressing communicable disease control, environmental health, health promotion, and emergency management. In addition, the Health Unit offers specialized programs such as smoking and vaping cessation to help residents achieve healthier lifestyles.

- Vaccination Clinics
- Routine immunizations (children, influenza, COVID-19, travel vaccines) via scheduled and walk-in clinics.
- Sexual and Reproductive Health
- Sexual health clinics, counselling, STI testing, and contraception resources.
- Breastfeeding & Prenatal Programs
- Support for expectant and new parents through clinics, education, and guidance.
- Dental Clinic
- Low-cost dental services for eligible children.
- Needle Syringe & Harm Reduction Programs
- Syringe exchange, naloxone kit distribution, and health promotion through “North Bay Healthbox.”
- Nutrition, Healthy Living & Injury Prevention
- Programs promoting active living, healthy eating, oral health screening, concussion prevention, and fall prevention.
- Environmental Health
- Inspection and monitoring of water, food safety, recreational and drinking water testing, and public health hazard management.
- Family & School Health Services
- Prenatal/postnatal care, preschool and school health visits, parenting classes, and youth wellness supports.
- Emergency Management
- Health Unit involvement in municipal emergency preparedness, response, and continuity planning.
