The «Division Urgence Sociale» offers food assistance in the form of coupons to citizens waiting for benefits from Unemployment Insurance, Social Security, CNESST or other instance.

This assistance is granted once a week during the usual 3 to 4 weeks waiting period for application analysis process.

The Social Emergency Division also offers psychosocial emergency interventions to the Laval population. Whether it be during a fire, an evacuation, a tragic death, a situation of domestic violence or during a crisis or disorganization linked to the mental state.
