CMHA - Ottawa Branch
Description:
The local branches provide direct mental health services to consumers and families. Branch staff and volunteers offer services that assess, refer, and assist people in distress due to psychological or emotional issues. They may also assist with crisis planning and short-term counselling. Branch services may differ throughout the province. Services may include case management, housing assistance, court services, and a variety of other community supports.
The Ottawa Branch is part of the National Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA). The National and Ontario Division offices provide branches with advocacy information, lobbying updates, social policy/research, and legislation proposals regarding mental health/illness and family violence issues.
